This photo of the Don Juan I took in June of 1999. I met him at a ranch in Wyoming
where I attended a workshop of four days with Don Juan.
We became good friends. He is a wise, stern, and funny man.
He was near 80 in this shot, while I was 55.
The last time I made contact with him was in 2005, when I went to visit him
at his house in the Baja de California.
He had just left for a two month trip to teach a group of people about the plant world.
I had just missed him. He doesn't have a phone so communication is difficult.
He has 46 children. Women are drawn to men like him. I have one child. Her name is Dune and she's lovely.
