MY SISTER IN LAW'S DREAM
When I arrived in Tucson, AZ, about a week after Barrow, I went directly to my brother Tom’s house on the West side of town. Reports on the TV kept referring to a place called Barrow, Alaska, and the stranding of two gray whales. I thought this odd, hearing about Barrow. “Who ever heard about Barrow? And whales...what did whales have to do with anything,” I thought. I didn’t pay much attention to the reports other then to see them as odd.
One evening I showed the raw video footage of the trip out in the boat and ceremony to my brother and his wife Audrey. After seeing the video Audrey, with a strange look on her face, called me over and said, “I need to share with you a dream I had while you were in Alaska.” I need to point out to you that she had no idea exactly where in Alaska I was, nor what I was doing there. No one did. It was no one’s business.
Audrey said that in her dream she saw me get in a small boat and go out onto a large body of water, through ice and slush. She saw me travel far out onto this large body of water then she saw me stop and pull out this very large crystal. She then watched in her dream as I said a few words over the crystal, then saw me drop the crystal into the ocean. She watched it float down to a decline, then begin to roll down to the deep part of the ocean. She watched it sit there for a few minutes, then saw it begin to emit a signal. In her dream she saw the signal being heard by the whales and the whales come to the crystal. That was the end of her dream. I was stunned.
I understood then that something incredible had happened and I would have to own it and go with it. This moment then began the mystery part of the journey. Before this moment the journey was just an expression of love for the earth and life. I say just, but of course it was far more then just love. It was also a job I was given to do by the energy of this earth and the surrounding force of eternity.
I flew back to Aspen a few days later and stayed with my Kabbala friends just outside of Aspen. I got very sick for two weeks and was just able to sit in front of the TV and watch the nearly constant news reports coming in about the trapped whales and the rescue attempt to save them. I recorded the reports of the rescue onto my camcorder.
As I sat there, in this delirious place of being sick, I watched in awe as the hundreds of people from around the world pondered the actions needed to free the whales, and listened to the words coming through the TV. What I heard were nearly the exact words being given back as the words that were put into the crystal. The words were all about ending the illusion of separation. For example: The Russian ship First Mate said, “This is more than just saving two animals. It shows what we can do when we join together to do something good between two peoples.”
Another announcer said, “It was an unusual alliance of groups: Greenpeace, oil producers, environmentalists, scientists, and Eskimos, joining together to add in the rescue.”
One week after the crystal drop there were 150 journalists from 36 countries reporting live around the world, to over a billion people, the rescue of the graywhales. The rescue went on for three weeks and many lives were changed by this event, as well as a book being written about it called "Freeing The Whales," by Tom Rose.
The man who built the Prudoe Bay oil fields, Billy Bob, pulled out his check book and paid for all the petrol used in the rescue, after he knelt down on his knees and touched the head of one of the whales as it surfaced for air.
The Inuit Eskimos has to put up with the superior acting scientists who were sent in to 'control' the situation. Greenpeace's enrollment shot up 400%. Over a million people called in Russian paper Pravda asking what they could do to help out.
It has been said that the energy field created by this event helped bring down the Berlin wall.
For over three weeks the attention of the world was focused on this rescue. CNN did a poll to ask if the money spent in the rescue was worth it---90% responded in the positive.
Classroom curriculums were made from this event and plays were penned.
The two graywhales represented the natural world gasping for it's breath, and us along with it. We, the human race, were shown the picture we need to follow to save ourselves, and it's called, dropping the illusion of separation. The whales came, as they have so often in the past, to add the necessary impetus to an important situation. See: "Souls Of The Sea," by Scott Taylor.
This event was a gift from the natural world given freely for us humans for our survival. Will we get it this time? Yes we will.
